October = #spookyseason and so I decided to take out my creepy, gothic books for this month! 🎃👻🧛

Here's what I read:

1. Blood and Honey by Shelby Mahurin

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Witches, Magic, Romance

Release Date: September 1, 2020

Rating: 3.5 stars (My Review)

I read Serpent & Dove in September and I really enjoyed it! This book was paced a bit slower and had a lot of focus on the characters. However, the lack of a super exciting plot didn't bother me much. I liked the emphasis on all the characters and the introduction of new ones!

2. Gods and Monsters by Shelby Mahurin

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Witches, Magic, Romance

Release Date: July 27, 2021

Rating: 3.5 stars (My Review)

The final book of the Serpent & Dove trilogy was an excellent way to wrap up the series! Really enjoyed all the struggles and battles the characters faced and I highly recommend this series to anyone who wants a good witchy enemies-to-lovers romance with a great plot!

3. House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Fairy Tale Retelling, Romance, Mystery, Horror, Gothic

Release Date: August 6, 2019

Rating: 4 stars

I stepped out of my comfort zone by reading a horror book for the first time since elementary LOL. I did a buddy read with my cousin (highly recommend buddy reads for horror books!) and it was really worth it. Just be sure to check any content warnings before picking this up and get ready to be terrified!

4. Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Series: Stalking Jack the Ripper #1

Genres: Young Adult, Historical Fiction, Mystery, Thriller, Romance, Gothic

Release Date: September 20, 2016

Rating: 4.5 stars

Another buddy read with 2 of my cousins and we all LOVED this book! Awesome feminism and a creepy, gothic plot with an amazing enemies-to-lovers romance. This murder mystery is a must-read!

5. Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

Series: Stalking Jack the Ripper #2

Genres: Young Adult, Historical Fiction, Mystery, Thriller, Romance, Gothic

Release Date: September 19, 2017

Rating: 5 stars

OMG, please read this series!! My cousins and I are reading the entire series together and we all loved this one even more than the first. The romance? YES YES YES!! Truly unexpected twists and an amazing plot! Definitely one of my favourite books.
